We love summer and so do our children! Last week, we hosted a simple yet fun Water Activity Day. Some of our children joined us for a refreshing water slide and water spraying game. They sure did have fun! It is incredible to see how intentional time along with a water hose can be so much fun. Afterwards, we enjoyed yummy pizza, cold watermelon and popsicles.
As the fight against COVID-19 progresses, we are planning in-person activities with all ages, following safe distancing guidelines.
This Saturday July 31, 2021, we are having our Legal Resource Fair, where our participants and members of the community can receive a FREE initial consultation from attorneys who specialize in immigration, special education, and worker’s compensation. When people sign upfor this event, they will be able to receive a 30-minute consultation. We will be joined by many organizations including the General Consulate of El Salvador in Los Angeles!
Last, but not least, in an effort to create awareness about the many challenges that migrant children and families face daily, Penny Lane Centers has put together a virtual community forum. The Refugee Children Center will participate in this forum with the goal to create an open conversation and dialogue on the challenges, needs, hopes and dreams of this community and how we can come together to support them. Please register here.
Once again, we appreciate your financial donations that allow us to positively impact our refugee children and their families. Thank you for sharing with your family, loved ones, and friends about the Refugee Children Center, we hope you are having a wonderful and safe summer 2021.
